Edmundo Apodaca
Vice President of Compliance
Mr. Edmundo Apodaca brings a wealth of global expertise, particularly in Latin American affairs, combined with a strong security background. After completing a three-year tour with the U.S. Army, Mr. Apodaca worked with the Department of Justice and the U.S. Border Patrol along the U.S.-Mexico border in California, all while continuing his education. He earned his degree in Criminology and Law Enforcement, which paved the way for his 24-year career with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).
During his tenure at the DEA, Mr. Apodaca was selected for a postgraduate course in Hemispheric Security at the Inter-American Defense College in Washington, D.C. In the final six years of his career, he served as the Country Attaché at the U.S. Embassy in Lima, Peru, leading a team of over 200 Peruvian National Police officers and 20 DEA agents in the development of sustainable drug control programs and enforcement of narcotics laws. He also provided critical counter-narcotics advisory support to the U.S. Ambassador.
Following his retirement from the DEA, Mr. Apodaca joined Baker Hughes Inc., a multinational oilfield services company, as International Security Manager. His extensive experience in security management across Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and Latin America led to his appointment as Director of Security for the Latin America Region, based in Bogota, Colombia. In this role, he successfully negotiated the release of expatriate employees kidnapped on three separate occasions.
