Mike Poel brings over 39 years of leadership experience spanning engineering, technology, business operations, and corporate strategy to his role as CEO of Swiftships. A graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point (1984), Mr. Poel began his career serving in the Engineer Branch of the U.S. Army before transitioning into leadership roles in corporate operations and IT functions at prominent organizations, including Fannie Mae.

Mike Poel joined SBE in 2012, initially leading IT operations for ICS Nett. Prior to joining Swiftships, Mr. Poel served as Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Sunrays, where he managed a diverse portfolio of business functions, including financial planning, contracts management, human resources, IT solutions development, program governance, and business development operations. His strategic oversight played a pivotal role in driving operational efficiency, compliance, and consistent performance across global markets.

In his leadership role at Swiftships, Mr. Poel is focused on advancing the company’s strategic objectives, optimizing operational performance, and driving sustainable growth in the defense and commercial shipbuilding sectors.
