Mike Poel brings over 39 years of leadership experience spanning engineering, technology, business operations, and corporate strategy to his role as Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Swiftships. A graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point (1984), Mr. Poel began his career serving in the Engineer Branch of the U.S. Army before transitioning into leadership roles in corporate operations and IT functions at prominent organizations, including Fannie Mae.

Mr. Poel joined SBE in 2012, initially leading IT operations for ICS Nett. Prior to Swiftships, he served as COO of Sunrays, overseeing financial planning, contracts management, human resources, IT solutions development, program governance, and business development operations. His strategic oversight played a pivotal role in driving operational efficiency, compliance, and consistent performance across global markets.

As COO of Swiftships, Mr. Poel is responsible for overseeing daily operations, optimizing business functions, and ensuring operational excellence across the company’s defense and commercial shipbuilding programs. His expertise in aligning organizational processes with business goals continues to strengthen Swiftships’ position as a trusted partner for clients worldwide.
