Overview
Swiftships’ 44-meter Fast Attack Craft (FAC44) is a high-performance combatant designed for agility, endurance, and firepower. Built on a proven military-service hull, it features a steel hull and aluminum superstructure, ensuring structural integrity and reduced weight. With a full-load displacement of 250 metric tons, the FAC44 delivers a top speed of 35 knots and a range exceeding 1,500 nautical miles at 12 knots.
The vessel is built to ABS (American Bureau of Shipping) and High-Speed Craft (HSC) standards, using state-of-the-art, high-quality components and engineered for a 25-year life cycle. It is mission-configured to counter Fast Attack Craft, provide force protection, escort High-Value Units (HVUs), support VBSS and MIO operations, conduct coastal defense, and neutralize asymmetric threats.
Key Features

Swift Engagement - Overwhelming Capability

Advanced Weapons Suite for Multi-Threat Defense
The FPB44 is armed with the Nexter-Thales 40mm Naval RapidFire system, capable of real-time, multi-ammunition response against surface and aerial threats—including UAVs. It is complemented by short-range SAMs for anti-swarm defense and four 12.7mm machine guns delivering full 360° close-range firepower.

Integrated Sensor & Surveillance Systems
Equipped with 3D air and surface search radar, R-ESM, IRST, and radar/infrared decoy launchers, the FPB44 offers comprehensive situational awareness. These systems are seamlessly integrated into a modern Combat Management System (CMS) for real-time threat assessment and response.

Secure Battlefield Connectivity
The vessel features an integrated Sperry/Furuno bridge system and software-defined tactical radios by Aselsan, ensuring resilient, encrypted communications and enhanced coordination across maritime operations.

High-Speed, High-Endurance Propulsion
Powered by either MTU or MAN marine engines with propellers or waterjets, the FPB44 delivers rapid acceleration and superior maneuverability. Two Caterpillar generators and an emergency power unit ensure uninterrupted performance of critical systems.

Multi-Mission Operational Capability
Designed for versatility, the FPB44 includes a high-speed RHIB with davit for rapid boarding and response missions, alongside centralized firefighting systems to ensure crew and vessel safety in dynamic operational environments.

Militarized Unmanned and Minimally Manned Vessels
Swiftships design and constructs of fully autonomous military vessels, and offers commercial platform conversion to militarized unmanned/minimally manned vessels. We have developed many variants of our Fast Supply Vessels (FSVs), not only for full autonomy, but also for minimally manned or remote operations of the craft.
Our primary example is an offshore patrol vessel previously called Riley Claire (aka Nomad) that is one of two offshore vessels so far converted to autonomous operation. Nomad is being tested by the US Navy in multiple missions. It traveled from the Gulf Coast through the canal to the U.S. West Coast, a total of 4,421 nautical miles, with 98% of that distance in autonomous mode and the Panama Canal in manual mode.
