As Executive Vice President of Business Development, Daniel Musmanno oversees the execution of Swiftships’ strategic plan through marketing, capture management, and proposal writing and is responsible to both government and commercial customers for the efficient execution of contracts. Upon earning a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy, Dan began his career in the U.S. Navy in 1973 aboard the USS Little Rock (CG4) as a fire marshal and maintenance and material manager. He taught leadership and seamanship at the U.S. Naval Academy before leaving the service in 1979 and going on to earn his Master’s in Engineering Administration from George Washington University.
Dan’s civilian career has encompassed a wide range of duties and responsibilities over the last 40+ years. From coin-operated locker installation and maintenance, to residential landscaping and irrigation, to telecommunications and logistics, to business development and client services; he has amassed a solid base of leadership and management experience that has been key to his success with multiple companies specializing in marine-based contracting. Just prior to joining Swiftships, Dan was instrumental in expanding the markets of several U.S. Gulf Coast companies and, most notably, he served as Program Manager on a $189M contract for the construction of nine 35M Patrol Boats for the Iraqi Navy as a consultant to Swiftships.
