Production Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION

As an integral member of the Swift team, you will be tasked with supporting Production Scheduling and Work Package Development as the Manager of Production and Assistant to the Director of Production. You will supervise all locations (Site 1, Site 2, and Site 5) and production foremen. For this position, you will be rated based on Key Performance Indicators (KPI). You will report directly to the Director of Production and/or President/COO in their absence.

Some of the critical position highlights, but not limited to, are as follows:

  • Responsible for the day-to-day management of production Sr./Jr. Foremen for various components as Assistant to Director of Operations (KPI)
  • Develop and coordinate production schedule and provide cost and schedule status to management and program office (KPI)
  • Identify and mitigate work package risks associated with all production efforts (KPI)
  • Oversee and coordinate production schedule and provide status to management and PMD (KPI)
  • Interface with the customer (Navy) and delivery teams to support the delivery and installation of components and hardware (KPI)
  • Provide oversight on engineering and material, components, assemblies, and subsystems management to ensure manufacturing/construction/fabrication schedule is met and within budget (KPI)
  • Advise management and the PMD of the status of work in progress and potential risks to the delivery schedule of work packages (KPI)
  • Manage Production Work-Package for all engineering packages to ensure personnel and services are provided as needed (KPI)
  • Perform detailed documentation for cost estimates alongside Price and Estimation (P&E) and the Engineering team to ensure estimates are in-line with budgetary targets during production roll-out (KPI)
  • Work with engineering design and project management to resolve any design-related issues impacting production and to improve product design for producibility (KPI)

People Leadership:

  • Partner closely with all levels of Leadership, Staff, and Clients to support and grow the business and ensure adherence to industry standards and best practices
  • Create production scheduling sub-teams and execute strategic initiatives across a complex and expanding organization – KPI

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • 10+ years of leadership experience in shipyards, ship repair facilities, New construction and/or USN
  • US Citizenship is required
  • Ability to read and comprehend ship construction drawings, schematics, and technical manuals
  • Strong organization, management, and communication skills
  • Attention to detail, multitasking ability, and customer service orientation
  • Experience managing multiple projects within scope, budget, and timeline
  • Proficiency with MS Office, MS Project, and SharePoint
  • Bonus points for experience with DoD customers, technical project management, MS Teams, and Agile methodologies
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
