Swiftships Partners With ICS to Continue R&D on Autonomous Anaconda

Swiftships has partnered with ICS Nett Inc. (ICS), a Virginia-based technology solutions company, to continue research and development efforts on the Anaconda, a Special Operation Craft Riverine (SOCR). Together, ICS and Swiftships will transform the Anaconda into a completely autonomous watercraft equipped with Artificial Intelligence (AI) capabilities that is faster and has more complex maneuverability than its predecessor.

Phase One of the Anaconda began with a partnership between Swiftships and the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 2014, when they created the Anaconda as a remotely piloted vessel. Later, a trajectory-tracking controller was added for use in obstacle free environments. Phase One completed in 2015, and ICS is adopting Phase Two to create the Anaconda 2.0 as an ongoing project.

Swiftships Receives ISO 9001:2015 Certification

Swiftships received its ISO 9001:2015 certification on July 7th, 2016 after successfully meeting quality management systems requirements needed to retain ISO 9001 registration at its production facilities (shipyards) in Louisiana, USA. Jeff LeLeux, President, commented on being production ready for its on-going and future programs. ISO 9001:2015 is Swiftships re-cert to its ISO 9001:2008, awarded in 2013.

NAVSEA Awards Swiftships Four 28 Meter KIT For Egypt

Swiftships was awarded a contract involving Foreign Military Sales (FMS) to build four (4) 28-meter KITs for the Egyptian Navy (EN). The contract will allow Swiftships to produce KITs so the EN can assemble/co-produce these 28m coastal patrol craft (CPC) in Alexandria, Egypt. The 28m CPCs will include 4.7-meter rigid inflatable boats, forward looking infrared system, diagnostic equipment, and contractor engineering technical services. read more…

Missile Retriever Re-power For USAF

Swiftships is performing routine maintenance and refurbishment tasks on the USAF missile retriever MR-120-8803.  The vessel is part of a five missile retriever fleet that Swiftships built for the USAF with deliveries from May 1988 through August 1988.  The MR-120-8803 is stationed in Panama City, FL and supports Tyndal Air Force base missions.  The maintenance project is one of several scheduled maintenance tasks that Swiftships has been selected to perform on the missile retriever fleet since they were delivered almost 30 years ago. read more…

Swiftships Completes Two 148′ MPSVs For South Oil Company in Iraq

Swiftships has completed two 148 foot MPSVs (Multi Purpose Support and Maintenance Vessels) for the South Oil Company in Iraq.  The boats will support maintenance activities for the single point mooring stations in the northern Arab Gulf.  These activities will assist in the oil exploration and production of the country and its oilfield services support sector.  The boats were built and classed by Bureau Veritas. read more…

Swiftships Launches Maritime Security Fleet

Swiftships is proud to announce the launch of a new subsidiary known as Swift Maritime Security (SMS), which is creating a private fleet to provide maritime security services. Registered in Dubai, SMS will operate throughout the world to provide escort services through hot-spots on short term contracts using its own fleet of patrol boats with armed crew.

According Shehraze Shah, CEO of Swiftships, the inspiration for SMS stemmed from incidents such as the 2009 hijacking of the Maersk, Alabama, and the 2013 kidnapping of mariners off the coast of Nigeria from a ship owned by Edison Chouest. read more…

Rodi Marine Secures Two 175 Foot DP-2 FSVs With Swiftships

December 15, 2014 – Rodi Marine Service has signed a contract with Swiftships to build two additional 175 Foot DP-2 Fast Supply Vessels (FSVs) in support of its continued expansion into the oil and gas industry. The two additional vessels will be an extension of the two-boat order made by Rodi Marine in 2013.

Earlier this year Swiftships delivered Rodi Marine’s first new build; a 175 Ft DP-2 FSV dubbed the Riley Claire. The Riley Claire was part of a two-boat order in which the second vessel is scheduled to be delivered by January 2015. The four FSVs will add to Rodi’s existing fleet, providing expanded capabilities in deep water operations. The two new vessels are scheduled to be ready for operation by early to mid 2016.

Swiftships Builds Six 28m PBs For Egyptian Navy

Swiftships has been awarded a contract for construction of six (6) 28m Patrol Boats (PBs) for the Egyptian Navy (EN). After a technical evaluation performed by a committee designated by the Egyptian Government, Swiftships 28m PB was determined to have the best platform according to the EN requirements. The six patrol boats will be constructed at the Egyptian Ship Building and Repairs Company (ESBRC) in Alexandria, Egypt. Swiftships has built a total of 23 boats for the Egyptian Navy including mine hunters, survey vessels, and both steel and aluminum patrol boats. read more…

Swiftships Wins Maintenance Contract For Iraq Navy

Swiftships has been awarded a contract for the accomplishment of continuous lifecycle support (CLS) for the Iraqi navy. This contract involves Foreign Military Sales (FMS) to the government of Iraq. This contract will provide technical expertise in preventative and planned maintenance, emergent repairs, and platform overhaul support services for Iraqi patrol boats, off-shore vessels, and defender boats. read more…
